Laced Memories

Of course, my first bee hive--like my first home sewn lace dress--had its mistakes, but was wearable.
I am normally not one to wax poetic, but I have become pretty obsessed with bee hives, lace, and jumbo necklaces.

Also, a little obsessed with costume jewelry. I inherited these beauties from my lovely grandmother who had impeccable taste. I love wearing them.

A little local thrifting turned up these $1 earrings. They are a bit on the weighty side, but make such a huge statement.  My "head piece" is the bottom border lace on a dress slip that was too big for me.  My grandmother gave it to me on an afternoon when she was doing what would prove to be one of her many "down-sizing" closet cleanings.  I didn't really appreciate those days when I was younger, but now I am very happy that I am a bit of pack rat.

  1. Bee-YOU-tiful, dahling!! Love you and miss you!

  2. Why thank you my dear! Although, I must warn you that a peak of your gift may show up just a heads up!
