Rules of Interpretation

As I continue to think about my weekly theme of "classic" and my monthly theme of "heart on my sleeve," I find myself thinking about the minimum.  Pared down patterns, for both sewing and knitting, that involve basic shapes, forms, and silhouettes that can then be modified for different occasions.  In a way, it reminds me of the impetus to create a custom sock.

One glove down--just a quick add on of a thumb--and I will soon have a customized pattern based off of the one I found in Robin Melanson's book, Knitting New Mittens and Gloves, and techniques found off of the Internet.  Gotta love when books and the web work together in harmony.

  2. Thanks! I wasn't sure if I would like the bold colors of the variegated yarn once I first got it, but they definitely grew on me as I began to knit. I figure I should always keep a pair of colorful gloves on hand for gray winter days!
